"Structure" sent waves through the worldwide underground house community when it was first issed as a CDR-album in April 2009. Fred P. aka Black Jazz Consortium and the man behind the amazing Soul People Music (http://www.halcyondigi.com/search/lab_desc.php?id=952) label had collectors and addicts in a tizzy trying to lay hands on his minimal house opus. Now a full 10 months later Structure is finally available for all as a 320mp3 and wav download from halcyondigi.com Download your copy today!
As a special bonus, check this fantastic 4 hour set by Fred P. and friends, recorded at the Structure CD release party at halcyon back in April 2009.

Mark your calendars! Fred P. will be back at halcyon Saturday march 13th, 2010 for an afternoon set celebrating his next limited release!
(http://www.halcyonline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/posts/fredp.jpg)Fred P.
DJ, Artist, and Remixer extraordinaire Fred P is the mind behind Black Jazz Consortium and the owner of Soul People Music (http://www.halcyondigi.com/search/lab_desc.php?id=952). Recording for a wide range of labels, most notably DJ Jus-Ed's Underground Quality, Fred P has gained a following of true deep house lovers all over the world. Staying true to his sound and vibe makes him a unique contributor to this genre. Fred is a mysterious man of few words, choosing to let the deep personal vibe of his music speak for him. (http://www.halcyonline.com/blog/wp-content/banners/monitor_200.jpg)There are many DJ-slash-Producers out there but few are naturals on either side of that divide. Adultnapper (http://www.halcyondigi.com/search/?t=artist&releases&s=Adultnapper&) is one whose talent applies equally to both disciplines. This week we celebrate the exclusive halcyondigi.com release of his latest studio production, Monitor, on MKL's Lion1Music imprint with this FREE offering from Adultnapper (http://www.halcyondigi.com/search/?t=artist&releases&s=Adultnapper&) the DJ.
"At Chez Parasole" showcases the signature Adultnapper style, juxtaposing a tight rhythmic groove, subtly rising and falling with a thick dark and moving intensity. As always, Adultnapper sets are journeys, programmed with musical sensibility and mixed with the expert dexterity one would expect form a world class touring club jock.

The cat is officially out of the bag however and that particular spell is now over: mOma is now celebrated as one of the rotten apple's most creative and sought-after spinmeisters. His versatile approach to reading diverse crowds and rocking dance floors has seen him grace turntables from the City's highest profile clubs (Tenjune / Cain / Lotus) to downtown's most exclusive spots (105 Riv / Gold Bar / The Box).
His seamless blend of funk soul hip hop reggae house and choice contemporary "bangers" also caught the ear of the entertainment industry as his services have been requested by Maxwell, Jill Scott and George Clooney; his weekly "Good Spot" residency - alongside Stimulus every Monday at 105 Riv - has been heralded as New York's best party by nightlife industry types; his critically acclaimed "Satisfy My Soul" mixtape series has been described as the perfect mixtape collection by his DJ peers and casual listeners alike. mOma is also collaborating with The Rub's heavyweight DJ Eleven on the Special Delivery project which consists of a monthly mixtape release accompanied by a monthly session at NYC's premier musical mecca, APT.

(http://www.halcyonline.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/posts/anthonyavatar.jpg)Anthony Avatar
Anthony Avatar is the last of a dying breed, a true native New Yorker of almost three decades. Anthony was born & raised in the heart of downtown's melting pot, growing up in The Chelsea Housing Projects, a place where little kids learn what their talents are quickly as a means of socio-economic survival. It is also the same neighborhood to foster the creative morale of Whoopi Goldberg, Grand Mixer DXT, The Wayans Brothers and Rakim, to name a few.
Rhythm has always been a fundamental part of Anthony Avatar's development. He can still call on his earliest memories of his neighborhood filled with Hip-hop on boom-boxes, deep house & disco pumping out of car systems, meringue in passionate flight from apartment windows, and the twilight mosaic of New York City after dark when all nightlife seemingly fled to the legendary Roxy.

Ant Avatar is 1/3rd of the Boogie Brothers Collective, formerly known as a group that makes and plays music for people to dance to. He plays purely vinyl dance music and is influenced by Wayne Ford, DJ Harvey, Mark Farina, Gene Farris, and Todd Terry. While playing all over New York at spots like Hammerstein Ballroom, Norwood, Hotel QT (alongside Shane Daddy,) Apt (alongside Neil Aline), and Canal Chapter, and holding residencies at Leux De Gamin, Ella (Wednesdays,) and Santos (Sundays,) Antony still aims to be the humblest of crowd-pleasers.

Recorded Live @ halcyon the shop 10.13.2006

About Ezekiel
A New York City native, and founder/label manager for the Anticipate and Microcosm labels, Ezekiel Honig’s idiosyncratic brand of electro-acoustic music nestles into a comfortable space between techno, house and ambient - using them as reference points from which to stray, rather than as steadfast frameworks. On his newest album, Surfaces of a Broken Marching Band, Honig constructs his music out of an almost incidental assembly of materials, editing and processing them into a whole which adopts the shards as if they always belonged.
Drawing on the rich history of musique concrete, he incorporates a material nature into his sound by imbuing it with a host of field recording/found-sound sources in the search for a balance between digital software innovation and the physicality of the world around us. The low hum of a pad and ground skimming percussion noise play off brightly distended piano chords, thick, wheezing horns, and widespread constellations of re-pitched guitar. Playing with looping and lateral progressions alike, softly chugging 4/4 rhythms built from the rattle of metal, wood and plastic barely nod towards muted slow-motion techno, while reworked structures retain his characteristically warm, textured sound. In this manner, Honig delves into electro-acoustics with a sensibility that includes elements of clearly defined genres, while allowing those definitions to quickly dissipate, opening the spectrum to sounds from crowded parties in cavernous spaces, subway stations, the interiors of an airliner and other geographic departures.
