Junction SM is Sonja Moonear and Dandy Jack performing a live/dj project based on a non-stop and improvised combination of sounds. Jack’s sets are routed through 2 channels of Sonja’s DJ mixer in order to let her control the whole  sound. She uses his sounds as an additional source mixed with her records, filtered, cut and edited with effects and pitched to match her groove. This explosive combo manages a perfect mixture of Dandy Jack’s sophisticated rhythms & sounds and Sonja Moonear’s fine record selection. The link between the two musicians and the public provides the oxygen ifor the fire in their performance. Depending on the development of the night, Dandy Jack  reloads new sets while Sonja takes over the dancefloor, or she slows down her inputs to let Jack perform solo. Out of this chemistry comes a wonderful tension that drives the night until the early hours. Both inputs are generating such a generous and various sound flow that it gives the impression of a perpetual live production. The crowd will never recognize any pieces, or hear repetitions from set to set. This approach dissolves the frontier between live sets and records allowing the audience to get lost inbetween. Now, two years after their first meeting on stage, Junction SM decided to get in the studio, resulting in the new Kalk Pets 6. Straight and sexy.

Dandy Jack is a live musician well-known through his own productions on Rather Interesting, Perlon, Telegraph, Remixes for Contexterrior, Crosstown Rebels, Roman Photo, and  multiple side projects such as Sieg Über Die Sonne, Gon (with atom heart), Amp (with pete namlook), Ric y Martin (with Ricardo Villalobos), Carabina 30 :30 (with Luciano); as well as through his amazing energetic live appearances.

Sonja Moonear is an independant and active DJ from the Swiss mountains, a party promoter and an occasional live performer . She recently teamed up with french label Karat for her own productions.

Along for the ride are the BLK|Market Membership residents, Taimur+Fahad. The boys have had a massive year, bringing in the best of the best to play their ever growing party. Their mission from the get go has been, ‘to bring in talent that inspires us as DJ’s.’ That simple policy has guided them and it’s no wonder why their party is amongst the best in the U.S at the moment. Be it opening / closing their events, playing back2back sets with their guests or just laying it down at the afterhours, Taimur+Fahad have had the opportunity to be heard and have earned the respect of many who regard them as some of New York City’s finest DJ’s in the techno scene.
