Rodney Williams aka DJ Domewrecka! has been providing the soundtrack to lazy afternoons at halcyon since back in the day when his monthly Sessions In Sound series unloaded crates of crazy beats on the unwitting Sunday afternoon tea sippers that surfed the couches of halcyon ‘classic.’ Now, fresh for 2010, with a complete makeover of the Domewrecka! persona, Rodney returns to the fold for A Jam Called Saturdays!

Roll through the shop this Saturday from 2-7pm to catch DJ Domewrecka! in action. It’s an all vinyl endeavor when Rodney is on the decks and one simply never knows what this dedicated beat digger, radio personality and music journalist will pull from his dusty crates. Soul, Funk, Hip-Hop, Disco, Dancehall and dance classics of every variety form the foundation of Rodney’s palette which stretches to encompass just about anything that’s been committed to wax in the history of recorded sound.

To celebrate DJ Domewrecka’s monumental five hour set, anyone who mentions this message will receive a nice 10% OFF on any vinyl purchase made at the shop this Saturday. That’s a Jam.

James Reeno is a bonafide “Native New Yorker” (just like the song says). Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s, he was hugely influenced by all the great disco, funk, soul, & early 80′s club music & electro that was coming out of New York at the time (even though this music was coming out of everywhere else under the sun as well) The early 80′s funk/electro made the biggest impression on him, although it took about 20 years for him to fully realize it! Although he is not known for covers, he recently recorded an electrofunk remake of Kool & The Gang’s 1974 classic “Summer Madness”. Reeno’s version stays true to the original vibe of the song, while giving it an electrofied facelift.

Also hot off the press!!! He recently did a track with ZENA KITT of ESCORT, called “I LUV U”…it’s very funky, but with some italo-disco influences, and the unmistakable vocals of ZENA KITT.
