Soundway Records is a UK-based label dedicated to unveiling forgotten chapters from some of the world’s richest musical cultures. Soundway Records releases music from numerous genres ranging from Disco and Rock to the sounds of 1970s Nigeria and Panamanian music.
Soundway celebrates all music global, with more releases from Benin’s Afro-Latin grooves, Colombia’s Champeta and all other forms of Tropical and Afro sounds. The label’s mission is to present the very best in obscure A-sides, B-sides and album cuts that have previously remained unavailable.
Soundway has released many compilations focusing on music from all over the world with albums including Ghana Soundz and Panama! – Latin, Calypso And Funk On The Isthmus, 1965-75. Released this week is the new compilation of Nigerian music called Nigeria Afrobeat Special: The New Explosive Sound In 1970′s Nigeria. It’s available on CD at halcyondigi.com, along with 11 other Soundway Records releases.
