It’s a Wolf! It’s a Lamb! It’s a… Psychologically Damaged Cuddle Toy?
We have to admit, stuffed animals are not the usual fodder we fill our shelves with, but then again, these seemingly cute creatures aren’t the usual suspect of the cuddle universe. These quirky characters hail from the Asylum of Abused Cuddle Toys, the brainchild of Hamburg’s Martin Kittsteiner, a man with a wild and clever imagination, who has invented an entire cast of psychologically ill creatures.
If you think these plush things are just bedtime buddies you may not be up to the task of owning one… See, along with the toy (you have the choice of Dolly, Dub, Lilo, Kroko and Sly), you will receive a letter from the Psychiatric Clinic urging you to “cure” the pet by engaging in a highly sophisticated flash game played at the designers website.
Players must “solve” the problem by guiding their patients through dream analysis, paint therapy, medical examinations and for some – shock therapy. What unravels is a trippy and twisted interactive journey through the subconscious of these toys that have seriously complex issues. This line is truly one of its kind, unique and oddly thought provoking. How M.K. thought up such an unusual albeit genius thing – that’s beyond us, but since we have an affinity for all things pleasantly quirky and slightly unhinged, the furry “patients” have found their first and only US home here waiting for the child in you (or aspiring psychiatrist) to come out and play…
