About the Festival
The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival is a celebration of Hip-Hop music and culture aiming to highlight Hip-Hop’s legacy as an agent of artistic progression, community building and social change. This is done by producing a variety of events from musical performances, Brooklyn Hip-Hop Family Day, film screenings, gallery shows and more. In an effort to create a truly open event Brooklyn Bodega does everything in their power to keep the Festival affordable.

The Philosophy
Brooklyn Bodega takes a very liberal and intellectual view of Hip-Hop that says Hip-Hop is more than music. It’s fashion, politics, sports, philosophy, journalism, publishing, web design, technology, visual art, digital art, sculpture, graffiti, dance, DJing, producing, and activism.  The purpose of the festival is to celebrate it all.

The Festival is more than a concert or outdoor fair. It is a more of a family reunion for lovers of this great culture.  People come from Flatbush to Berlin to enjoy the Brooklyn sun. The goal is to produce a world class event in Brooklyn where the best and brightest come to celebrate Hip-Hop culture. The festival endeavors to support local artists from Brooklyn and the NYC area while not creating an insular event for, by and in Brooklyn.

About the Brooklyn Bodega Team
Festival Founder and Executive Director, Wes Jackson. Wes is also the president of Brooklyn Bodega, producer of the Festival and The Room Service Group, the firm that handles all marketing executions.
